I'm returning for a bit to the learning process of my winter portrait project. I stress that this is a learning project as I really want to get better at portraits. I so admire artists that can capture the personality of someone and that certain moment in time that really expresses the subject. I am striving to get better.
This is Angie and her daughter Chloe. They are friends of ours from church. They were really fun to paint because, not only are they both gorgeous, but they ( and their entire family) are such a pleasure to know because of the inner beauty that they have. Angie's husband is the youth pastor at our church and I can't even begin to express the gratitude I have to both of them for their service and good teaching to our kids.
I spoke earlier of admiring those that can capture a person's personality on a canvas. Well, ironically enough - Angie is someone who happens to be able to do that. Except for her, she captures them with her camera (I would love to be a good photographer!) Check out her photography on her blog, she does amazing work!
